Discover Yaz, the innovative contraceptive pill designed not only to effectively prevent pregnancy but also to harmonize hormonal fluctuations. Enriched with essential estrogen and progesterone, Yaz is your ally for a balanced reproductive system, adeptly regulating menstrual cycles, minimizing flow, and reducing the risk of ovarian cysts.
Yaz is also recognized for its ability to alleviate the symptoms associated with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in women who choose oral contraceptives. However, it?s important to note that its long-term effectiveness for PMDD beyond three menstrual cycles has not been conclusively demonstrated.
According to the DSM-IV, PMDD is characterized by severe mood disturbances, including depression, anxiety, mood swings, and irritability. Other symptoms may involve a reduced interest in daily activities, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, changes in appetite, sleep disturbances, and feelings of losing control. Physical symptoms can include breast tenderness, headaches, joint pain, bloating, and weight gain, typically surfacing during the luteal phase and subsiding shortly after menstruation begins. Healthcare professionals diagnose PMDD using DSM-IV criteria, assessing symptoms over at least two menstrual cycles while ruling out other cyclical mood disorders.
Important Note: Yaz has not been evaluated for premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
How to Use Yaz:
For optimal effectiveness, take one tablet daily at the same time each day. Skipping doses or improper usage may increase the risk of contraceptive failure. To maximize Yaz's contraceptive and PMDD-relieving benefits, adhere closely to the instructions provided on the blister pack. If you forget a pill, take it as soon as you remember.
Starting Yaz:
You can start your Yaz regimen either on the first day of your menstrual period (Day 1 Start) or on the first Sunday following the beginning of your period (Sunday Start).
