What forms does this medication come in?Each white scored tablet, marked with "ZADITEN," contains 1 mg of ketotifen fumarate. The inactive ingredients include calcium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium stearate, and maize starch.
TabletsFor those who prefer a tasty option, each 5 mL serving of strawberry-flavored syrup also contains 1 mg of ketotifen fumarate, along with inactive components such as alcohol, citric acid, methyl-p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl-p-hydroxybenzoate, sodium phosphate, sorbitol solution, strawberry flavoring, sucrose, and water.
Syrup Are there any special warnings or precautions for this medication?Before initiating any medication, it's crucial to inform your doctor about any existing medical conditions, allergies, current medications, and your pregnancy or breastfeeding status, as these factors can greatly impact your treatment plan.
If you're diabetic, please note that the syrup formulation contains 4 grams of carbohydrates per 5 mL. Rare cases of low blood cell counts have been reported in patients taking both antidiabetic medications and ketotifen. Consult your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.
